Frank Productions is planning to build a 46,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, 2,000-seat music venue in the 1000 block of East Washington Avenue. The Madison-based concert promotion company, which lost out on its bid to purchase the Orpheum Theatre after managing it through its bankruptcy proceedings, hopes to begin construction in December.
The unnamed venue’s primary function would be to host live concerts and entertainment, but a flexible-wall system would also allow the space to be used for smaller corporate or community functions. Plans also include a VIP lounge and seating area, expansive dressing room facilities, and offices for Frank Productions staff. Parking would be included on the same block.
The privately funded entertainment hall will be designed by Stone House Development, and Frank Productions hopes to open it in 2015.
