The latest poll of Wisconsin voters by Marquette University Law School shows Sen. Bernie Sanders in the lead with 29 percent of Democrats listing him as their first choice in the presidential primary race. It is the first Marquette poll since Sanders won both the New Hampshire primary and Nevada caucuses.
The survey questioned 1,000 registered Wisconsin voters from Feb. 19–23 and the margin of error was plus or minus 3.6 percentage points.
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg came in second with 17 percent of those polled, followed by former Vice President Joe Biden with 15 percent. Former South Bend, Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren trailed with 13, 11, and 9 percent, respectively.
Marquette’s survey continues to suggest an extremely close general election in November.
