Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) continues to build on the return of passengers, according to a Portage Daily Registerreport. Throughout the peak holiday travel period from November through January, the airport projects an average of about 2,123 flights per month, up from 1,330 flights per month in late 2020 and the first month of 2021. However, typical traffic at the airport in 2019 and early 2020 was about 2,775 flights per month. The rebound is a positive sign for the airport but some travelers remain uncertain of what restrictions may apply to their travel plans.

In addition to increased passengers, nonstop destinations have been rebounding. Before the pandemic, the number of direct flights from MSN was 19 and dropped to 10 last winter. Sixteen nonstop destinations are currently offered from MSN.
