This weekend, members of the Madison Police and Fire Departments will participate in the annual “Battle of the Badges” hockey game, WMTV15 reports. The community fundraiser, to be held on March 16 at the Madison Ice Arena, provides support to those struggling with drug addiction.

Doors will open at 2 p.m., and there will be a community skate open to the public from 2:15–3:45 p.m. The U.S. Military all-star hockey game begins at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Madison Police and Fire teams’ faceoff for the showcase event at 6 p.m.

“Battle of the Badges” has raised upwards of $140,000 to help cover the cost of recovery services, training recovery coaches, and expanding services to expectant mothers. Safe Communities coordinates the work and has grown its team of frontline recovery coaches to serve hospital emergency rooms and more locations throughout the community.
