Mount Horeb-based Embryo Solution recently received a $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), WMTV15 reports. The organization helps low- and middle-income people nationwide build their families through embryo donation and adoption processes.
Only around 25% of those living in the U.S. can afford in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment, and some of those who undergo IVF are sometimes left with a surplus of embryos. Among other options, the organization allows people to donate these embryos to scientific research or to a family in need. Children who are connected to families through Embryo Solution have access to their genetic origins through the agency once they turn 18.
