After a physical altercation over payment, a Mount Horeb business owner was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and physical abuse of a child.

Dane County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Bohn Road in the town of Vermont just before 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24. The 911 caller had found a distraught teen walking on Bohn Road.

Deputies contacted the 17-year-old male, who admitted to arriving at the Tyrol Basin ski resort in Mount Horeb without purchasing a pass. Staff immediately asked him to leave, and he complied.

As the teen was walking away from the property, the business owner, Nathaniel T. McGree, and another staff member followed the teen off the property and physically assaulted him. McGree demanded that he return to the ski hill and pay $120.00 — twice the pass amount — and he again complied.
