A Dane County Judge will weigh evidence of unlawful animal cruelty, including live testimony, photos, video, and state and federal inspection reports, at Mount Horeb beagle breeder and experimentation facility Ridglan Farms on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 9 a.m. The hearing comes in a case seeking the appointment of a special prosecutor to pursue criminal animal cruelty charges against the company.
Two former employees are expected to testify at the hearing, along with animal behavior experts, veterinarians, and animal rescuer Wayne Hsiung, who previously faced criminal charges for the open rescue of three beagles from Ridglan Farms.
Petitioners are Dane4Dogs, represented by the Animal Activist Legal Defense Project, the Alliance for Animals, and Hsiung, of The Simple Heart.
