Madison Organizing in Strength, Equity, and Solidarity (MOSES) for Criminal Justice Reform will host its seventh annual Transformation Celebration Gala onDec. 14 at the Goodman Community Center’s Brassworks Building from 5:30–9 p.m., according to Madison365. The event will be held
Nonprofit MOSES promotes social justice, focusing on ending mass incarceration. This year’s gala will recognize three formerly incarcerated individuals who have worked to transform their own lives: Kingston Robertson, brand owner of Holy Godz clothing; Jessica Jacobs, a Dane County community organizer for the FREE movement, which advocates for the respectful treatment of incarcerated women in Wisconsin; and Action Jackson, who owns a professional landscaping business and founded workforce development program J.Y.C., which provides free training in lawn care and landscaping.
Camella Glenn will emcee the event, which also includes an awards ceremony and a raffle. Glenn is a community advocate and violence intervention supervisor for Public Health Madison & Dane County. Goodworks Community Catering and Teenworks are catering the gala.
