Mortenson announced it has completed financing and acquired the site for the Judge Doyle Square hotel from the city of Madison, according to information from the company. The 262-room Embassy Suites by Hilton on the site will serve the convention center, capitol, and other downtown Madison businesses. In conjunction with Kahler Slater, Vierbicher, and Wild Muse, Mortenson will finalize permitting for the project over the next several months and plans to break ground in spring 2022. The hotel has a planned opening for early 2024.
