When Sub-Zero was considering building a plant in Kentucky, the city of Fitchburg stepped up with $2.25 million in TIF and the state authorized up to $2.75 million in tax credits to keep the company here.

Now, the high-end appliance manufacturer is asking the city for another $1 million in TIF to add 30.5 acres of land for a new training center, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Upon completion, the project is expected to have an assessed value of $21.5 million, up from the original estimate of $11.2 million.
