Miko Poké will close later this month at 2701 Monroe St. and be transformed into a burrito and bowl concept, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. Madison’s first poke restaurant, Miko Poké opened in the summer of 2016 and, with neighboring Everly, replaced Bluephies.
HWY 1, the new concept, is set to open in early June. It will retain the current business’ order-at-the-counter style but offer food inspired “by the vibrant flavors and easygoing spirit of Mexico’s legendary Federal Highway 1,” the Food Fight restaurant group said.
The restaurant’s new menu will feature burritos, salads and bowls, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. It will also serve draft margaritas, sangria and beer.
