Monroe Street will host “First Friday” on March 1, which returns on the first Friday of each month. The event highlights participating boutique shops, retail stores, locally owned restaurants, and more. Each “First Friday” will feature different experiences and entertainment, updated weekly.
This Friday, Hive of Madison at 1904 Monroe St. will have a happy hour from 4–7 p.m. I’m Board! Games & Family Fun at 1839 Monroe St. will have a percentage-off game for customers from 4–9 p.m. Monroe Street Arts Center at 1732 West Lawn Ave. will feature local artist and educator Selia Salzsieder creating a floral portrait collage as well as an opportunity for attendees to create art from 6–7:30 p.m. (with registration required). Mystery to Me bookstore will host an in-store scavenger hunt from 4–6 p.m. for a percentage off. Orange Tree Imports at 1721 Monroe St. will have refreshments, a spin-the-wheel game, and 20% of sales benefiting charity partner Bikes For Kids Wisconsin from 5–7 p.m.
