Another street reconstruction challenge awaits a local group of merchants, and this time it’s along Monroe Street.

Due to a reconstruction project on that roadway, westbound lanes will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, March 12, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Until the project is completed — reportedly in November — no westbound lanes will be open from where Monroe Street intersects with Regent Street to where it splits with Nakoma and Odana roads.

An eastbound lane toward Camp Randall Stadium and downtown Madison will remain open.
