Monona’s WVMO 98.7FM was awarded the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association’s (WBA) 2024 Station of the Year distinction, marking the third consecutive year the station has earned this title and the fifth time in its 10-year history.
The Station of the Year award is part of the WBA’s annual Awards for Excellence, which recognize the state’s best in television and radio broadcasting. Criteria for the honor include overall excellence, community involvement, programming innovation, and listener impact. WVMO is powered largely by volunteers — local DJs, community leaders and storytellers.
To mark its 10-year anniversary, WVMO will also host a community event on Aug. 14 at San Damiano Park, featuring a live performance by WheelHouse.
