Monona police are looking for a vehicle involved in several retail thefts and a Beltline hit-and-run crash, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The vehicle in question is a blue, 2002 Chevrolet Blazer with Wisconsin registration and the license plate AMY-8493.

A Monona sergeant reported seeing the vehicle around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday on West Broadway in Monona, but upon the sergeant’s attempt to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated onto the westbound Beltline highway, driving on the shoulder and in the closed flex lane. The pursuit was terminated due to traffic volume.

The fleeing driver did not stop upon sideswiping another vehicle near John Nolen Drive. Anyone with information regarding the vehicle or driver is encouraged to provide an anonymous tip.
