Featuring what is billed as Madison’s largest fireworks display, the Monona Community Festival will return July 2–4 in Winnequah Park after being canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the festival website, the free event also will feature live music, food carts, carnival rides, children’s entertainment, and the all-new “Monsters of Monona” strongman competition. The event also features the return of the Wisconsin “wife carry” championship, where competitors carry their partner through an obstacle course.
