Options for 4K in Madison can be scarce, according to The Capital Times, but the Madison Metropolitan School District has added some options for families with two working parents.
This school year began with tuition-free 4K, with a full-day child care offered at Ray W. Huegel, Lapham, Midvale and John Muir elementary schools. It resulted in 162 new full-day spaces this school year and totals about 1,000 spots.
These initiatives follow through on pledges made in previous district referendums for more full-day 4K options, and a full-day option for 4K for five days a week at Olson Elementary is currently being piloted.
