The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) has decided to return to school this fall but with fully online instruction, according to a Wisconsin State Journalreport. The announcement comes after the district met with the teachers union and they demanded a fully online model of instruction for at least until Oct. 31.
The model will include attendance taken daily rather than weekly and an emphasis on direct teacher-to-classroom instruction rather than video chat. Staffing decisions have not been made.
The Sun Prairie School District and the Middleton-Cross Plains School Board also both announced schools in their districts will begin fully online in the fall.
