Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) teamed up with Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin to bring mobile food pantries to its schools, NBC15 reports. The program benefits students and their families as well as anyone facing food insecurity in the community.
The mobile food pantry currently serves between 75 and 100 families every two weeks, and Second Harvest is looking to grow that number to over 100.Â
The pantries are at 13 schools across the district. The last mobile distribution of the year took place on Dec. 12; pantries will be closed over the holiday season.
