The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) invites district stakeholders and community members to participate in any of seven upcoming budget and facility engagement sessions.

The feedback gleaned from these sessions will help the district address both the challenges facing its aging facilities and the statewide issue of underfunded K–12 education.

The sessions’ discussions will focus on:

  • The current state of MMSD’s facilities and the challenges they pose to teaching and learning;
  • Prioritizing resource allocation to meet instructional needs and improve student outcomes; and
  • Strategies for revitalizing the district’s learning environments to better support student success.

Event dates and locations include:

  • Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. in the Sennett Middle School cafeteria;
  • Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. in the Toki Middle School/Orchard Ridge Elementary School cafeteria;
  • Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. in the Sherman Middle School library;
  • Feb. 29 at 6 p.m. in the Leopold Elementary School cafeteria and library for one English and one Spanish session, respectively; and
  • Feb. 29 at 6 p.m. in the Black Hawk Middle School library and a classroom for one English and one Hmong session, respectively.
