Carlton Jenkins will serve as the new Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) superintendent beginning Aug. 4, according to a district release.
Dr. Jenkins has served as superintendent of the Robbinsdale, Minnesota School District for the last five years. As Madison’s first Black school superintendent, Jenkins’ hire has been commended by Boys & Girls Club of Dane County CEO Michael Johnson, a staunch advocate for the Madison Black community.
