The Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport will receive $8 million in federal funding toward its redevelopment of Concourse E.
The international concourse funding is part of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Terminals Program.
It will replace the International Arrivals Terminal.
“Securing this grant is an important step forward for the Concourse E project and for the future of MKE,” Airport Director Brian Dranzik said in a statement. “This investment allows us to modernize our facilities, improve the passenger experience and support the long-term growth of air service in Milwaukee. We’re grateful for the continued support that helps us strengthen our role as a gateway for our community and our region.”
The concourse’s redevelopment began in 2025. The $8 million is in addition to $13.5 million in federal grants already acquired last year. The remainder of the project will be funded through airport revenue and bonding.
The project is estimated to be complete in late 2027.
