Developer Fred Rouse of Rouse Management and architect Randy Bruce are proposing a three-story mixed-use property at the corner of Monroe and Knickerbocker streets, once the location of Town & Country auto repair. A bungalow next door, which was built in 1911, would also be demolished. The proposed building would include 21 apartments, 2,400 sq. ft. of commercial space, and 21 parking stalls, but it would not address parking for customers of the commercial businesses. Neighbors aren’t thrilled, citing concerns about commercial encroachment, increased traffic, and a lack of parking.
