Two years after its debut on Monona Drive, Mishqui Peruvian Cuisine has expanded to a new spot in downtown Middleton, according to the Capital Times. The new location opened on March 16.

Cynthia Garcia, who runs Mishqui (also known as Mishqui Cocina Peruana), initially started the venture as a catering and event service, participating in festivals for two years before setting up shop in what used to be Rosie’s Coffee Bar & Bakery at 4604 Monona Drive back in 2022.

The venture turned out to be a hit, prompting Garcia to open the new location at 1901 Cayuga St., Suite 110, in Middleton, right next to Barriques.

The Middleton menu mirrors the Monona Drive favorite, featuring popular items like stir-fries, fried rice, rotisserie chicken, and ceviches. It also boasts an “empanada factory” dedicated to crafting the savory pastries for both locations. Garcia envisions eventually selling her empanadas directly to customers for at-home enjoyment.
