Investment firm KKR of New York is acquiring Mills Fleet Farm, which has been family owned in the Midwest since it opened in 1955. Terms of the purchase agreement have not been disclosed.
Brainerd, Minn.-based Mills Fleet Farm sells hunting, fishing, and sporting goods, in addition to apparel and livestock supplies, and has 18 stores throughout Wisconsin, including a store in Beaver Dam. Among KKR’s portfolio of retailers are Toys R Us, US Foods, and Channel Control Merchants. The investment firm plans to operate Mills Fleet Farm separately from its other retail interests.
