Middleton’s largest employer, Thermo Fisher Scientific, announced on Tuesday the completion of a $58 million clinical research laboratory building for its pharmaceutical product development, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
The 72,500-square-foot building, located just east of the Middleton Airport and north of Airport Road, will employ up to 350 scientists and support personnel. The company employs almost 2,300 workers at its other Middleton facilities.
The new facility aims to increase the company’s chemistry, manufacturing, and control analytical capabilities in its comprehensive drug development, laboratory, and lifecycle services. The addition will also help Thermo Fisher’s customers — which include pharmaceutical, medical device, academic, biotechnology, and government entities — expedite bringing therapies to the market.
