Middleton welcomes new eco-friendly residential development

A new eco-friendly residential development, Belle Farm, is launching on a 44-acre site on Parmenter Street in Middleton, with public infrastructure nearly complete.

Belle Farm was planned as a walkable community featuring compact development and access to nature. Prioritizing sustainability, health, and wellness, the neighborhood will include a mix of housing types, architecture, fitness amenities, neighborhood-focused businesses, and land use. The primary home builder, Brio Design Homes, is scheduling fall 2024 construction starts and is estimating an eight month build time. Residents also have an option to use their own builder. 

Energy audits will take place during the design and construction process to move the homes to as close to net zero as possible. By integrating renewable energy sources, Belle Farm residents will also minimize their monthly utility costs. The development will preserve 50% green space, incorporating storm water management and creating shared amenity and garden spaces.

All homes will feature:

  • Geothermal heating and cooling, decreasing energy costs and reliance on the grid and fossil fuels;

  • Roof solar installations. 

  • EV-ready electrical systems; and

  • Run-off reduction and water management efforts.
