The Middleton Market Food Hall has an unclear future, according to a Cap Times report.

The development, which includes 263 apartments and 25,000 square feet of commercial space, went up for sale last week after the building went into foreclosure.

Eight of its nine food vendors signed leases, but all remain in limbo. The food hall portion of the building had been expected to host 15 businesses.

Renting trends were cited as having the largest negative effect on the project. Borrowing costs rose, while only about 75% of the Aviary at Middleton Market was filled with renters.
