The city of Middleton saw $206.9 million in visitor spending last year, WMTV15 reports. According to the recent Tourism Economic Impact Report, that’s the highest number ever recorded.
Visitor spending in Middleton was up 3.3% from 2023, rising for the third straight year. The city is home to over 80 restaurants, 50 shops, parks and trails that draw visitors annually for hiking or cross-country skiing.
The news comes ahead of Middleton’s National Mustard Day Celebration on Aug. 2, which attracts thousands of visitors each year and highlights select local businesses.
Lodging brought in the most visitor spending citywide ($60.5 million), followed by food and beverage ($57 million), retail ($42.1 million), recreation and entertainment ($24.7 million) and transportation ($22.6 million).
Visitor spending generated $36.2 million in state and local taxes.
