The Middleton Public Library’s first-ever bookmobile hits the road in late fall of 2024, and community support is being requested to “stuff the bookmobile”!
The bookmobile will serve as a full-service library on wheels that aims to:
- Increase library usage and civic engagement by meeting people where they are;
- Promote and support literacy for all ages; and
- Grow collaborations and partnerships.
The Friends of the Library and the Library Board of Trustees invite the community to be part of the Stuff the Bookmobile Campaign — a $50,000 campaign to purchase over 1,000 books for readers of all ages and materials and equipment to support outreach programming efforts. The vehicle purchase has been secured through the library’s budget, but help is needed to fill it.
In 2023, the library visited 204 places outside of the library with 11,097 people and over 30-plus partners. The addition of the bookmobile is expected to increase that reach.
Supporters can stop by the library at 7425 Hubbard Ave. in Middleton or visit midlibrary.org/bookmobile to learn more.
