The release of second-quarter numbers by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) indicate a strong Wisconsin economy, according to a statement by the Wisconsin Bankers Association. A comparison of the second quarter of 2021 to the second quarter of 2020 shows that Wisconsin’s economy continues to improve after the initial impacts of the pandemic. Total deposits grew by 8.25% as people in the state continued to put money into savings and borrowers are increasingly up to date on their payments, with noncurrent loans and leases down 27.6%.
