MGE plans county’s largest solar project in Fitchburg

Madison Gas and Electric (MGE) filed an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin for approval of a 20-megawatt solar array to be built in Fitchburg, according to a release from the company.

The project, the O’Brien Solar Fields, will be the largest in Dane County and provide solar energy to businesses, municipalities, and public institutions under MGE’s innovative Renewable Energy Rider.

The project will be located at south Seminole Highway and Lacy Road.
