Madison Gas & Electric increased second-quarter earnings compared to the same period in 2013. The local utility reported earnings of $14.1 million (41 cents/share), compared to $13.9 million (40 cents/share) a year ago. Weather in the second quarter was on par with last year, helping to keep earnings consistent.
