If approved, a partnership between Madison Gas and Electric, the city of Madison, and the Madison Metropolitan School District will build an 8-megawatt solar array in Madison, according to a release from MGE. The proposal was made under MGE’s Renewable Energy Rider and hopes to advance the energy goals of MGE net-zero carbon electricity by 2050.

If approved, the application filed with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin would increase renewable energy use in city operations by nearly 20%.
