The Madison Fire Department was nationally recognized for its work to improve outcomes for patients experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, WMTV15 reports. It is one of only two U.S. fire departments given the Heart Safe Community award by the IAFC and the PulsePoint Foundation.
The award follows MFD’s collaboration with local hospitals and emergency departments.
