The city of Madison announced Metro Transit’s Youth Fast Fare, which offers half-price fares for eligible youth, providing a pay-as-you-go option for students as they head back to school.
The discounted fare is available to youth ages 5-17, or still in high school. Students can create an account online, pick up a Metro Fast Fare card and then register to receive half-price fares, adding funds to their account on the go.
Fast Fare Cards are available at the Metro Transit Administration Office, 1245 E. Washington Ave., any Madison Public Library or via email.

Eligible youth will need to provide a photocopy or attachment of a valid student ID and a valid ID card, passport or birth certificate to verify their eligibility for a half-price fare.
