Metro Transit and Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) are partnering for the fifth consecutive year to bring back the Summer Youth Pass Program, according to the city of Madison. This program offers free rides for Madison-area students in grades six through 12, including recent high school graduates, to jobs, athletic camps and more throughout the summer months.

Students with an MMSD Fast Fare pass from the school year are encouraged to use the same pass throughout the summer. New for 2025, if a student doesn’t already have an existing pass, the Summer Youth Pass will be available virtually through the Metro Transit Fast Fare mobile app.

Students and their guardians can click here for instructions on downloading the mobile app and setting up a virtual pass, which will be valid from June 12-Sept. 1.
