The expansion and remodel of UnityPoint Health-Meriter’s Child and Adolescent Psychiatry center is complete, doubling the footprint of the original building and adding services for the center, according to a communication from UnityPoint Health.
The full remodel increases the capacity of the inpatient facility designed specifically for children and adolescents experiencing a mental health crisis and includes separate “tween” and teen wings, as well as a new classroom, playroom, kitchen, additional occupational therapy space, enhanced gardens, relaxation rooms, and more areas for physical activity.
The $13 million investment included $3 million in community donations.
