A former employee of It’s Your Party and another area man pled guilty to embezzling from the Verona business between 2003 and 2007. Steve Schmidt, the former employee, and Darren Ulatowski, both of Fitchburg, agreed to repay the business $323,948 and $112,375 respectively. Schmidt pled guilty to money laundering, and Ulatowski pled guilty to fraud. Reports claim the men used It’s Your Party staff and property to keep Ulatowski’s Verona Business, House of Flowers, solvent. Each man faces up to 20 years in prison.
