Member of Reinhart real estate practice inducted as ACMA president

Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart) shareholder John Murphy, a member of the firm’s real estate practice, has been inducted as president of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA). This honor recognizes Murphy’s contributions to the field of mortgage law and his dedication to the ACMA.

Murphy was formally inducted on Friday, Sept. 20. This marks the culmination of more than a decade-long involvement with the ACMA, during which Murphy has served in various leadership roles, including state chair, chair of the state and provincial chairs, secretary, and treasurer.

Murphy has transactional experience in acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, real estate finance, and sale/leasebacks. His work includes negotiating and drafting complex documentation, supervising due diligence, and working through easement and property tax issues in real estate transactions. His clients include lenders, borrowers, developers, buyers, sellers, tenants, landlords, and joint ventures. Murphy earned his J.D, cum laude, from the University of Chicago Law School, his Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and his B.A. from the University of Illinois.
