McFarland celebrated its expanded ice arena facility and new Starion Bank Rink on Oct. 4.
A second, smaller ice rink was added to the facility, in addition to an expanded lobby area, training center and high school locker room.
Overall, the space increased about 50% with the addition of 13,500 square feet.
The project cost about $3.2 million. About $700,000 will come from fundraising, with the other $2.5 million coming from a Starion Bank loan. Granting the bank naming rights resulted in a discount on the interest rate of the 20-year loan.
