According to reports, Madison College President Jack Daniels is considering selling the college’s downtown Madison campus, and he’s asking the board to decide on the matter at its May 13 meeting.
Daniels has proposed terminating the west campus lease, which is up for renewal in 2016, selling the downtown campus, and focusing on locating a comprehensive campus on the city’s south side that would be more accessible to those who need it most — the poor, undereducated, and poverty-stricken.
Daniels has asked the board to create a task force to examine plans for a new south-side campus.
