Madison Area Technical College’s new south campus, a project that many believed would be built in three phases based on fundraising, has been put on a fast track and will break ground in June.
Madison College secured more than $20 million in funding, and now the 75,000-square-foot building, to be named the Goodman South Campus, should be ready to go for the start of the 2019 fall semester, according to a release.
The project, set for the corner of South Park Street and Badger Road, was bolstered locally by a $10.2 million pledge from Great Lakes Higher Education Corp. and Affiliates, $10 million from the Goodman Foundation, and another $1.3 million from the American Family Dreams Foundation.
Madison College will vacate its downtown location in June 2019.
