Following a four-year hiatus, Margarita and Taco Fest will return Aug. 17 at a new location, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The event, held by Isthmus Events — now Red Card Events — from 2017–2019 in the former Pasqual’s Cantina space on East Washington Avenue, will now be hosted at Paoli’s Seven Acre Dairy Co.
A number of Greater Madison’s top chefs and bartenders will offer unlimited street tacos and two-ounce margarita samples to ticketed attendees. Participating restaurants in addition to Seven Acre Dairy include Canteen, Bandit, Tex Tubb’s Taco Palace, Good Co., Paoli Schoolhouse, The Great Dane, Gotham Bagels, Gloria’s, and the former Migrants (owned by Oscar Villareal, who still caters).
The festival will also feature live music from Mariachi Cielito Lindo de Wisconsin and Travis Beckum DJ Four7. The event will run from 3–6 p.m. A VIP portion beginning at 2 p.m. will feature Heritage Tavern chef and owner Dan Fox, a three-time James Beard Award nominee and owner of Fox Heritage Farms and Willow Creek Farms, demonstrating a half-hog breakdown. It will also include appetizers, carnitas tacos, and top-shelf tequilas.
