This Sunday, Marcus Theatres in the Madison area will offer $4 tickets for the second annual National Cinema Day, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The company is also waiving online fees and additional charges that day.
Theaters will still apply local and state taxes, but the deal is a significant reduction from general admission ($14.66 during prime time before taxes and fees at Marcus’ Palace Cinema in Sun Prairie, for example) and even “Value Tuesdays” admission ($7 for non-members and $6 for members, plus additional fees).
The one-day event is being held nationwide at around 3,000 theaters and on more than 30,000 screens. National Cinema Day also includes $3 regular-sized fountain drinks, $3 hot dogs, and $3 Samuel Adams seasonal beer.
