Discover the history and the science of maple syruping at Maple Syrup Fest, a free, family-friendly event that will be held at Monona’s Aldo Leopold Nature Center at 330 Femrite Drive. The event, taking place on Saturday, March 16, from 1–4 p.m., offers a blend of indoor and outdoor activities.
Stations throughout the nature center grounds will lead visitors through the maple syruping process, teaching when and how to tap trees for sap, providing samples of real Wisconsin maple syrup, and more.
Other event features will include:
- Maple syrup trivia;
- A tour of the Children’s Shack;
- Maple syrup cooking demonstrations; and
- Maple ice cream sundaes and other food available for purchase.
Free parking is available at Ahuska Park at 400 E. Broadway with a free shuttle that will run every 15–20 minutes.
