A new challenger has entered the crowded field of Democrats vying for governor of Wisconsin.
Democrat Mandela Barnes has thrown his hat into the ring for the top job in the state.
Barnes served as Wisconsin’s lieutenant governor for four years and lost a close 2022 U.S. Senate bid.
He made the announcement on Tuesday, and can be considered a frontrunner thanks to his statewide funding network and name recognition.
Barnes launched a campaign video where he highlighted his father’s union background and said President Donald Trump is building a legacy of “distraction and chaos to avoid accountability.”
