A man was arrested Thursday after allegedly making threats in response to being laid off from his job at Dean Health Plan, WMTV15 reports. The office building in the 1200 block of Deming Way was evacuated for a security threat following a layoff announcement.

Nonprofit health plan Medica, which has invested in Dean Health Plan, announced it will be laying off 162 employees organization-wide; affected employees are health plan employees, including those at the Madison hub.

Around 10:05 a.m. on Thursday, MPD officers responded to the office for the threats, and other officers went to the mans’ house. He told officers he was upset and “randomly saying things in response.”

The man was arrested and taken to Dane County Jail, facing charges of disorderly conduct and making terroristic threats.
