Patti Gorsky, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin since 1999, has announced her impending retirement in early 2025. Gorsky navigated the organization through several business transformations and branding strategies over the years, resulting in increases in both revenue and mission impact.
A graduate of the UW School of Journalism, Gorsky’s professional accomplishments include the Executive Education Program for Nonprofit Leaders at Harvard’s Graduate School of Business, the Business Journal’s Women of Influence Award, TEMPO Mentor Award, Donald Driver Driven to Achieve Award, and others.
In addition to working at Make-A-Wish, Gorsky also served as director of community affairs/marketing at WITI TV6, public relations and communications director at the Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau (now Visit Milwaukee), and as community relations press secretary to Milwaukee County Executive William F. O’Donnell.
Gorsky will continue in her role as the board completes a nationwide executive search and will work closely with the board to ensure a smooth transition of leadership by early 2025.
