Madison-based Woodland Tools Co. recently provided the UW football team with sledgehammers customized with Badger messaging, according to a recent press release. Two models were created for the team: mini sledgehammers for ceremonial use and larger, 20 pound sledgehammers for training purposes and activities throughout the season.
The Badgers debuted the mini ceremonial sledgehammers during their recent “Iron Badger” ceremony, where the winners were awarded the tools. Throughout the 2023 football season, players who achieve awards will be gifted these sledgehammers as a token of recognition. The larger, 20 pound models will be utilized for an array of tasks, including on-field activities and exercises in the weight room.
